THIS MONTH'S ADDICTION IS ...

Well I don't think it would take a genius to guess this month's obsession is the World Cup :)

There are so many things to love about it.

Number 1- It is the world's most loved SPORT!!

Number 2- You get to support your country (or as in my previous post countries)

My personal Favourite Number 3 - the HOT players :D

As well as so many more reasons... I don't think I will have to bore you with any of them!

However I thought I would share with you my top 5 hottest players in the world :)

#5
Alberto Gilardino

#4
David Beckham

#3
Ricardo Kaka

#2
Fabio Cannavaro

#1
Cristiano Ronaldo

Ofcourse this doesn't mean there are hotter players out there, I just think these are the most captivating to my taste.
i haven't even started on the Spanish, Chile, Argentina, French, Cameroon and so many other teams... yet haha!

*Please not these players were chosen solely by Connie, Nelly may have different opinion haha!

Anyways that is all from me for now :)

Not Torn In Two... Simply United!

Hey all, this is just a quick post from me, Connie :)

I was really offended by something that I read on another blog this morning.
On this blog, someone suggested that when it comes to the World Cup you should only choose one team and stick it.

While I do agree someone who has no connection to another country probably shouldn't go for another country when their team is in the World Cup, I must disagree with this person who thinks that we should all choose one team.

As someone who was born in Italy but raised in Australia i often can't choose who to go for, so I decide to go for both until one of them is kicked out. (2006 was hard for me, but ultimately I got to choose the winning team) You see I am very patriotic, for both my countries.

Why should I have to choose one country? I love them both.
Italy was the place of my birth, and the first seven years of my life. It is also where my parents met and married. It is a country I hold dear to my heart.
At the same time, my parents moved to Australia because they both had lived here before, and had family here, but also because in Italy there was no future for our family. I am sooooo grateful to my parents for moving to Australia where I have so much opportunity and have a wonderful life.

Anyways, I just wanted to share with you my disappointment with this Blogger who doesn't know that sometimes you have to choose two teams. Sometimes you juts have to.

so while Matthew McCoughney (how do you spell his name) may seem like a hypocrite to you, I completely understand his stance. He supports his home country, but also the home country of his Wife and his children, who are half Brazilian.
Same with Katy Perry, when she marries Russell Brand she would be an honorary Brit, and if she wants to support his team then she definitely has a right to do so!

I especially feel sorry for people like Nelly, who have three teams. While she was born and raised in Germany her parents are Italian and she obviously lives in Australia. That must be difficult for her!

So thats my schpeil!

I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject. What do you guys think, acceptable to have two teams during the World Cup?

Australia vs Germany

Australia   vs   Germany
0-4
Hello!
The countdown is over and the worldcup has finally began! For Connie and myself being from a european background you should expect lots of posts about it :)
One of the first matches we were actually interested in was Australia vs Germany. With Connie being raised in Australia and myself  being born and raised in Germany, we just couldn't miss it. So we headed down to the Crown Casino here in Melbournes CBD at 3 in the morning. (we did two trips that morning)
Trip#1: was in a taxi we ordered that ripped us off  big time, just to get to the freeway and back it had cost us $61. Connie noticed that she had left her purse at home, so we made the taxi drive us back to my house, where we took Connies car and drove to hers to get the purse.(which had her ID in which was the main thing.)
Trip#2:When we got everything back in line, on our second taxi ride we were much more relaxed because we had everything and also this time showed the taxi driver what route to take. ;)
We paid $28 for that taxi to take us to the city! (Notice now how much that other one had ripped us off!)
Anyway enough talking of that, lets get to the main point of the whole post!
We arrived at the Casino and walked straight to the Sports Bar which was where they were screening the game. As soon as we got there we ran to the bar craving a drink after the little adventure we had to go through. Of course we had  a Tequila-Sunrise!
It didn't take us much at all to make some friends which we ended up hanging out with for the whole game. The best part about it was that we were having all sorts of conversations with them and they weren't sleezy or trying to pick us up. It's Great to see that there are still good boys like that out there.
That room was filled with Aussies and i think it had around 0.5% of germans in there, even if it felt like I was the only one cheering on the 4 Goals Germany kicked I had a lot of fun.

Once the game was over we all left on good terms with the boys we met which was, no exchanging of numbers or anything like "..we should catch up sometime.."."..i will text or call you.."
You go home feeling so much better with no expectations or disappointments, only great memories.

Connie & Nelly on the tram home 7 in the morning.

Lots of Love from DDF.

Another weekend, Another good memory!

Hey Y'all

Sorry we've gone a bit rogue again and forgotten about blogging.

This would work better if we weren't so busy living life, so we can blog about it.
It would be pretty boring if we never did anything wouldnt it?

So anyways, enough excuses... lets talk party :)

Saturday night was our friend Justins Birthday, so we all headed down to The Deck.

The Deck is one of our (well mine for sure) favourite places to go on the weekend.
It plays good music, it usually has a great crowd, and on top of all that you can get the best Kebabs across the road. (Be careful of the Onion smell in the morning)

Anyways, as I haven't done a post on my love of Collingwood, you may not know how obsessed I am with my Football Team :), the point i am trying to get at is that The Deck is partly owned by St. Kilda Footy Player Nick Reiwoldt, and so it can be a hotbed for other Players.
However, in the 3 times before last weekend, that Nelly and I have gone there we have never seen one (when you dont include Nick himself who was there my first time)
Ok, so back to Collingwood, this time when we were at The Deck there were two Collingwood Players there.
Jack Anthony and Brad Dick. I loved that i was at the same place as two of my favourite players!
Nelly managed to snap a pic of Jack and Me. it is a very nice photo if i do say so myself.

So that is enough talking i will share some photo's with you now.

That was our weekend, sorry we're so late in posting this, its nearly the next weekend already!
This weekend, though we have no concrete plans for Friday or Saturday night we know we are staying home on Sunday, and going to watch the Australia vs Germany World Cup Clanger at crown, at 4am on Monday morning. Followed by a day at the footy - as it is Collingwood vs Melbourne Queens Birthday Match!

I think i have gone on long enough now.
