Merry Christmas and a Happy New Y ear 2011!

Hello there,
this comes very late and delayed, but I'm sure you all know how crazy December can get
I hope you all had a great Christmas filled with love around your family or loved ones.
To me it's become the one day of the year you can catch up with the whole family in one day,
every ones lives have become just way too busy!
Being from a Italian background it was filled with waaaaay too much food, and I'm sure so was Connie's with her family.

Merry Christmas from DDF
This year for NYE our friends including us were a little slack with organising anything,
so we decided that it would be nice to spend it with our families which we both are glad to have done.
Connie went to her cousins house with all her cousins and parents, and I went to a family friends beach house. I loved it there because it's a little town where retired people stay it was very quiet, and it was exactly what I needed after a crazy time and year!

Even if it was good spending so much time away, I did miss my friends and Connie of course. So when I got back to Melbourne Sunday after NYE as soon as I got home, unpacked and by the time I got ready we went out.
First stop was Anglers Tavern which we may have mentioned a few times before, it's just a local place with ok crowd and music. The only bad thing must be the short staff on a huge bar, we waited for way too long.
Afterwards we went to Star bar that we haven't been to since April 2010 (My birthday).
I personally Loved the music and the crowd was ... meh, average I guess. Lot's of tall people for some reason, and blonds! That was a bit odd, but apart from that we had a fun night. Lots of shots and drinks were involved...oh what a crazy night.

When we got back home around 1am Connie and Me were not ready to sleep, so we played Whiz-Bang,
one hell of a fun drinking game which perhaps will get its own post with other drinking games.
We ended it with watching Khloe & Kourtney in Miami until around 4am Connie woke me up to go to sleep. (we were on the couches which are way too small to sleep on)

Our countdown to our Europe trip is getting more exciting every single day!!
5 Months and 20 Days away!!

From Very Hot!..to a very wet Melbourne

Our unique city of Melbourne is well known for its crazy weather mood swings!
Last Friday we had 28 degrees and Sunshine and then the day after on Saturday it was down to 17 degrees and stormy rain and floods!

On Friday we had our friends Caetlyn 20th Birthday at..hmm guess where we went again??? The Perseverance! haha.
Since we're planning on going overseas next year we have to think of many ways on how to cut down on spendings.

1.Buy 'travellers' if you're heading out where drinks can get pricey.
:p

With the birthday girl in the car on our way there.
yup..another shot in the toilets haha.
The group for the night, everyone enjoying themselves :)
you can't tell but i had 2seconds to run from the bar and back to them thanks to my timer to take the picture hehe.
definitely a bunch of good looking peeps right there :P
Love these last two pictures the most, wish i could have stolen the photographers cameras look at how cool they look!

After Caetlyns Birthday we got home in time to have enough sleep before we had to get ready for Derby Day
(One of the Melbournian Spring Racing Days where the traditional dress code is Black & White)

Last year when Connie and myself went for the first time it was amazing weather but it got too hot at one stage. This year it was the extreme opposite! It was bucketing down till the streets flooded, it was a very amazing day haha.

Ready to go to the Races :]
Connie having a little lunch break under our mofo umbrella haha.
One of the many races of the day.
Squeezing together under the umbrella but someone just kept getting wet, especially when the wind joined the rain...that was just great...
We had to go inside away from the horrible weather, but it wasn't that much better there.
It was all wet, slippery and crowded because everyone else was hiding from the rain there too.
So we finally left about 20minutes before the main race haha,oh well...we didn't get to place bets anyway.
Poor Caetlyn walking under the rain from the Flemington Race Course....let's hope next year will be better compared to the last two years.
Here we are waiting for our lift under our big umbrella totally soaked!
...But that didn't stop us from having our own fun.
When we got home we laid on the couch and watched TV firstly because we were wrecked!
Then sometime later Connie and me fell asleep while leaving Caetlyn alone to watch a movie lol. All that running around in the rain in heels really got to us, once we woke up we played some games on the Wii which was pretty funny!
We had some dinner and called it a night. We really ended up having way more fun when we got home then at the races. I mean it was a great experience to get all dressed up and go to such a old traditional event, but when you can't do much because everything is flooded...then that ain't fun lol.

That's all for today from me :)

A Very packed Weekend!

Hello! This time it's Nelly :)
This post has not been posted due to not having pictures uploaded, and a post without pictures is a little boring imo.

Our packed weekend started on a Friday after work when Connie our friend Caetlyn and myself ate out at Cavallino on Lygon Street. Lygon street is a a street in Melbourne filled with mediterranean restaurants and shops, if you visit Melbourne visit Lygon too :)
The food was great with it we also had white wine, it wasn't the best but good enough.
After dinner we went to Caetlyns work where everyone had left and I started getting ready for the Night. Once that was done Caetlyn dropped me off at a Karaoke place where I had my work colleagues waiting for me to sing...which never happened :P

Yeah I'm really shy with singing in front of people unless I had few drinks in me or after I feel comfortable enough with that person. Anyway the night was great I had 5Free drink cards which i had to waste in less than 2hours, so by the time Caetlyn & Connie had picked me up I was..well let's say very happy. Thinking about it now I feel really sorry for Connie & Caetlyn for having to hear my singing all the way to our mate's Birthday.

The Party was at the Doutta Galla Hotel in Flemington, which never went to so we didn't really know what to expect. WOW it was a great great night, the Music was just about perfect the crowd not so much but it didn't matter because we were too busy dancing it up.  They had this special 'Tea Pot' which had...I'm not too sure what but you had to have it in shots, and because it's big and not something you can leave at the bar we had it all quick!
Connie pouring some TeaPot drink in out shot glasses.

The ones to drink it all were...no big surprise, Leigh Connie and I.

Must Toilet shots.

I'm Telling you the best pictures are always taken in the girls toilet, there is just something about them.
Girls catch up on all the gossip, make-up is being reapplied and the outfit is being fixed up. So here it is boys, you always wonder why girls take aaaages in the toilet, of course we don't pee like the Niagara Falls haha.

Here are the Girls looking all cute :)

Last pic of the night,Kisses to you from DDF :)
That mark on Connies head was from falling down the stairs on her way out, just kidding it's a lipstick mark :p

Perseverance again.

Hello!
Last Friday we went to Perseverance again, it wasn't as great as the previous week.
We were probs too tired from work and it wasn't as exciting as the firs time...i wasn't going to but yeah..we also didn't have as much to drink lol.
But it turned out we still looked ok in the pictures that were taken.

When we got home we were so0o wrecked that we collapsed straight away on Connies bed.
We never stop, even when we're wrecked from work, we still go out lol.

At the moment it's really cold here in Down Under so going out at night isn't always great especially when it rains.
So we might have a quiet one this coming weekend, collect some money and energy.
I am reeeeally looking forward for Summer, my whole wardrobe contains summer items..seriously.
I think Connies is pretty much like that too, let's face it clothes are prettier in summer and you can mix and match more.

Anyway...it's finally THURSDAY tomorrow!..two days away from the weekend..
..I still haven't seen Inception fingers crossed I will be able to this weekend.
BTW Connie bought Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl DVD's so be sure to expect a post about that lol

Persaverance

Hello!
Perseverance is a little pub/club in Fitzroy on Brunswick street we went to this past Friday night.
Connie has been there I think ... two times?
It was my first time there and I quiet enjoyed myself there.
The music was from the 90's and 00's which was AWESOME,
the crowd was very normal which was good for a change.

Thanks to www for Picture.yourbars.com.au

Connie, Nelly & Leigh
This was after a few shots if you haven't noticed.
we love shots =]

We were the first three to get there because Leighs girlfriend and our friend Caetlyn were busy and met us later.

That was the screen saver at their reg...hey shh, everything seems awesome when tipsy :p

If you're not aware of it, Connie LOVES the Pies (for the non australian readers, pies is the mascot for collingwood which is one of the teams for the biggest sport in Aussie land here)
Loves is not a strong enough word to explain her Passion for footy and her all times fav team.
Look at her tryn to reach up haha how cute!

Drunk Biatches haha.
They're so funny I love these two, if you want to go out to have a great time then these are the ones to go with.

Being my usual crazy.

Busting some Moves on the Dance floor
you should see her life, she goes off haha.

one or two hours later our friends Caetlyn and Jess joined us which was good fun!!

I must add a highlight before i forget:
While dancing for no reason i turned around to look behind me, when i looked back to the group Connie was gone!!
The music was loud but I could hear Connie yell...I looked down ...and there she was on the floor laughing hahaha.poor thing!
Even if her heels her gorgeous as, that thin heel wasn't much of support.
Her ankle is now swollen, but she's a tough girl.

Here are the three girls again =D

The Night was very successful, we had lots of fun and lots of drinks. It was the first time going out after many weekends of just stayn at someones house because winter is soooo0o boring and cold!
I'm reeeeally looking forward to summer!
everything is better in summer,
The Beach which results in beach hair, nice tan and you get all the pretty dresses that hang in your wardrobe.
You can also go to more places than in winter, and you're in a better mood.
But that's just me.
=]

That is all for now, I hope you enjoyed this post.
Sunday Night Movie coming soon from me.

Sunday Movie

Wolf Creek

As you saw from the previous lovely post Connie posted, we went away for the weekend. Now in that post it all seemed lovely and fun but what you guys don't know about was our trip there.

We had our navigator, yes, but that still didn't really make us not get lost and freak out! haha
(yes I'm laughing now, but we sure wasn't then!!)
This was all in the last 15 minutes of the ride there by the way.
So Connie and myself were driving..the navigator lady said the name of the street which is where our destination was, but then all of a sudden everything got dark...we end up in this forest, the rain wouldn't calm down and we were lost!
It all happened so quick!
Because Connie goes to this beach house every year if we were anywhere near the house she would have known, but obviously not because Miss Navigator took us the back way.
So we decided to make a u turn but the only way of doing it was in a 3point turn and it was in a very muddy side lane. First thought was of course "wheel please don't get caught in THE MUD!!"
Luckily Connie turned that 3point turn into a 10point turn so we slowly but safely got out of there!
Eventually after calls to our friends and lots of driving around we made it to the beach house safe, but what it all reminded me of was the Australian movie Wolf Creek.

 picture thanks to www.joshworley.blogspot.com

...Minus the creepy guy and the car breaking down...and everyone getting killed.
ok so it may not be exactly like Wolf Creek, but the Fear was definitely close to Wolf Creek.
Have you seen it before? It's a pretty creepy Movie, since I watched the movie I can't stand the actor who played the creep in it.
What did you think of the movie?

I once actually drove near where they did the movie from Melbourne to Adelaide and i was soo scared of the car breaking down lol.

Anyway once we got to the beach house, we drank those fears away with some nice Malibu and Coke =]

BTW: Apologies for the mass delay for the Sunday Movie,it's now Sunday the week after...whooops.

At least I ended up posting this eventually haha.

Thanks for reading

Australia vs Germany

Australia   vs   Germany
0-4
Hello!
The countdown is over and the worldcup has finally began! For Connie and myself being from a european background you should expect lots of posts about it :)
One of the first matches we were actually interested in was Australia vs Germany. With Connie being raised in Australia and myself  being born and raised in Germany, we just couldn't miss it. So we headed down to the Crown Casino here in Melbournes CBD at 3 in the morning. (we did two trips that morning)
Trip#1: was in a taxi we ordered that ripped us off  big time, just to get to the freeway and back it had cost us $61. Connie noticed that she had left her purse at home, so we made the taxi drive us back to my house, where we took Connies car and drove to hers to get the purse.(which had her ID in which was the main thing.)
Trip#2:When we got everything back in line, on our second taxi ride we were much more relaxed because we had everything and also this time showed the taxi driver what route to take. ;)
We paid $28 for that taxi to take us to the city! (Notice now how much that other one had ripped us off!)
Anyway enough talking of that, lets get to the main point of the whole post!
We arrived at the Casino and walked straight to the Sports Bar which was where they were screening the game. As soon as we got there we ran to the bar craving a drink after the little adventure we had to go through. Of course we had  a Tequila-Sunrise!
It didn't take us much at all to make some friends which we ended up hanging out with for the whole game. The best part about it was that we were having all sorts of conversations with them and they weren't sleezy or trying to pick us up. It's Great to see that there are still good boys like that out there.
That room was filled with Aussies and i think it had around 0.5% of germans in there, even if it felt like I was the only one cheering on the 4 Goals Germany kicked I had a lot of fun.

Once the game was over we all left on good terms with the boys we met which was, no exchanging of numbers or anything like "..we should catch up sometime.."."..i will text or call you.."
You go home feeling so much better with no expectations or disappointments, only great memories.

Connie & Nelly on the tram home 7 in the morning.

Lots of Love from DDF.
XOXO
