Cousin's Wedding :)

Hello my lovelies! I have missed writing to you all...

So I guess I should start with my apologies for lack of posting in the past month or so...

It has been a really busy time for me, and Nelly as well. So busy that we barely find the time to see each other, and have even less time for us to write here for you all.

Here are some of the things going down in my life, that have been keeping me so busy - it started with my birthday, which i was busy all weekend spending time with Nelly and co, and just celebrating my life :)

The weekend after my birthday was the AFL Grand Final, I cuoldnt get tickets to that game so i was at Sidney Meyer Music Bowl, unfortunately we didnt win that game, it was draw and subsequently that meant we would have to have a rematch the following weekend. So the first weekend of October was also spent watching the Grand Final, though this time i got tickets and was there to watch my team win their 15th Premiership Cup :) but more on that at a later date.

Then this past weekend was my cousins Wedding which is what this post is about.

This isnt really my cousin. You see my Dad's family all lives in Italy except for one of his uncles - Michaelangelo - who my Dad loves and treats like his own father. Anyways, Zio Michaelangelo had two kids Carmel and Joe who both have kids older than us.

Zia Carmel is actually my second cousin, as she is my dad's first cousin, and her son, Andrew (my third cousin), was getting married on the weekend.

I know it seems weird that I would know my third cousins but my Dad is really old school and likes to stay in touch with his family.

Anyways, this past weekend was Andrew and Janine's wedding. They married on 10/10/10 like 1000 other couples in Melbourne did. It was an amazingly beautiful day. 25 degrees Celcius and the sun shining all day long. The wedding was held at the Siren on Williamstown Beach and it was my families first beach wedding. Of course the rest of the family had much to comment on but i though it was a beautiful beach wedding.

Janine is a Kiwi so her family showed us some of their traditions and even did the haka.. it was amazing. i now know why people would get scared of that. And then the Italians sang the song from the Godfather (we're Sicilian, thats how we do things). There were a lot of emotional speeches, and it was great to hear things about Andrew and Janine. despite knowing they have been together for 8 and a half years i didnt really know them.

The night was fantastic! the weather was warm and so comfortable to be outside, and the music was excellent. They played old school, r&b and current music which made for the best night.

anyways here are some photos of the event. We didnt take too many since we were enjoying ourselves :)

With my Siblings - Dona, Alba and Nino.

Alba and I being silly with the camera :)

Dona, me and Alba - do you think we look alike?

Not the best of photos, but i love this shot of my sisters, myself and my Mamma.

Zia Adelina and Zio Michaelangelo with Nino.

The Four of us again. Look how pretty the beach was :)
What you cant see here is that right next to us there are people who are having dinner at the restaurant, completely seperate to the wedding. So while all the people on the one side were in their sunday best for the wedding, on the other side we had people in jeans and bikinis having something to eat. They kept staring at us as we walking to the restaurant, and we could hear them murmur "they must be going to a wedding" like Duh!

Janine and Andrew cutting the cake. After the Ceremony and photos taken on the beach, it was time for speeches and cake.

with my sisters again :)
